Salty is my word of the year for 2026. It has been a very powerful word for me. It comes from:
“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
— Colossians 4:6
God’s call for me to be the woman He created me to be!
In November of 2025 I was worshiping with Red Rocks church at Red Rocks Amphitheater in CO. As we worshipped I felt God saying “Enough! Stop reliving what the world has placed on you and be the forgiven woman I’ve made you to be. Take your power back.”
Then when I attend a Word of the Year event sponsored by Christian Women Business Organization … I was trying work “Power” into being my word. Isn’t that what God had laid on my heart? Then as we were spending time in scripture, someone read Col 4:6, followed by:
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”
— Matthew 5:13
I had been losing my saltiness. I was broken, wounded, empty and desperate to be rescued. I was guilty BUT pardoned!! And God welcomes us just as we are… then in our love for Him we are obedient to change to be more like Jesus everyday.
How are you feeling today? What has you feeling broken, wounded, empty and desperate to be rescued? What guilt are you letting Satan use? Our Heavenly Father’s arms are open wide! Lay it all down and come to Him. Then when Satan tries to get at you again say “Salty” (or a word of your choosing) to stop the thoughts. We are not to live in the past. God is in the today with us!!
Father, please help us to lean into You and your word and Godly people who guide us back to, or just closer to, you. Help stop letting Satan, the enemy, have a foothold in our life. Amen
